It's berry season here in New York! This Berry Shortcake Quinoa Bowl is so simple to make for your little ones and deliciously sweet (and nutritious!). It is packed with antioxidants and plant-based protein from the whole-grain quinoa. Rotating different grains is a great way to make sure your child with allergies is getting enough nutrients. This dish is made with just 6 simple ingredients. Enjoy!

Berry Shortcake Quinoa Breakfast Bowl (for tots!)

  • 3 tablespoons 100% quinoa hot cereal (see image below for product recommendation)

  • 1/2 cup rice milk (I use Rice Dream Original Enriched Organic rice milk)

  • Pinch of Himilayan salt

  • 1 teaspoon raw agave

  • Fresh strawberries, sliced thin

  • Fresh blueberries

Cook quinoa cereal until creamy by simmering cereal, rice milk and salt in a saucepan for about 90 seconds.

Transfer cooked cereal to bowl and stir in agave.

Top with fresh strawberries and blueberries. Enjoy!

For this recipe, I use Ancient Harvest quinoa flakes (see below). I typically find them at my local health food store.
