Grilling season is upon us and this family sure loves our barbequeing! However, all barbeque sauces that I've seen on the shelf contain white vinegar and plenty of other ingredients derived from corn (carmel color, brown sugar, natural flavors, etc.). Even the organic options are not corn-free and some contain gluten. We decided to create our own barbeque sauce that's a little sweet and a little smoky. Made with raw agave, apple cider vinegar, smoky paprika and blackstrap molasses, it's super tasty with steak or chicken. Free of gluten and corn, vegan as well. Enjoy!

Sweet & Smoky Barbeque Sauce

  • 1 (15 ounce) can organic tomato sauce

  • 1/2 cup Bragg Organic Apple Cider Vinegar

  • 1/3 cup raw agave

  • 1/4 cup organic tomato paste

  • 1/4 cup blackstrap molasses

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons smoked paprika

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for 20-25 minutes to allow sauce to thicken.

Store in a glass jar in the refrigerator.

Happy barbequeing!
