We love fall in this house! This delicious treat is so simple to make and smells like the season. I just grabbed a small pumpkin from a local farm stand, cooked it up and added some pure maple syrup and spices. My toddler loved eating this on toast and using it as a dipping sauce for pretzels. It's nutritious and free of refined sugars, as well. Enjoy!

Spiced Pumpkin Butter
1 medium pumpkin
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon allspice
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
1 whole clove (or 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves)
Prepare your pumpkin by cutting off the stem and rough spot on the bottom. Scoop out the inside of the pumpkin and cut into quarters.
In a large saucepot, steam pumpkin using a metal steamer basket for about 30 minutes until tender.
Scoop out the insides of the pumpkin into a blender. Add the remaining ingredients and blend until pureed into a thick applesauce consistency.
Enjoy on toast or with pretzels or crackers.
